Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using Likable ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

You must be at least 16 years of age to use Likable. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

2. Description of Service

Likable is an AI-powered speaking practice app designed to help users improve their charisma, confidence, and communication skills. The core service includes:

• Impromptu speaking sessions with randomized topics (up to 5 minutes each)
• Audio recording and transcription of your speech
• AI-generated analysis and feedback on speaking metrics including charisma, filler words, speaking pace, pauses, and clarity
• Progress tracking through streaks, weekly completions, and historical session data

3. User Accounts

To use Likable, you must create an account using one of our supported sign-in methods:

• Apple Sign-In
• Google Sign-In
• Email (magic link authentication)

Each person may maintain only one account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Audio Recording & Transcription

Likable records audio during speaking sessions. Important details about how your audio is handled:

• User-initiated only: Audio recording begins only when you explicitly start a speaking session.
• On-device processing (iOS 26+): On supported devices, audio transcription is performed entirely on your device using Apple's SpeechAnalyzer technology. No audio data is sent to external servers.
• Cloud processing (iOS < 26): On older devices, audio is sent to our secure server infrastructure for transcription using OpenAI Whisper via Supabase Edge Functions.
• Local storage only: Audio recordings are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to the cloud. Only transcripts and analysis results are stored in our cloud database.

5. AI-Powered Analysis

Likable uses artificial intelligence to analyze your speaking sessions and provide feedback. Please understand that:

• AI analysis is provided for educational and self-improvement purposes only and does not constitute professional coaching, therapy, or medical advice.
• Charisma scores, clarity scores, and other metrics are estimates generated by AI models and may not be perfectly accurate.
• Analysis quality may vary depending on audio quality, background noise, and other factors.
• On iOS 26+, analysis is performed on-device using Apple Foundation Models. On older devices, analysis is performed using GPT-4o-mini via our cloud infrastructure.

6. User Conduct

You agree to use Likable only for its intended purpose of speaking practice and self-improvement. You shall not:

• Use the App to create, record, or distribute harmful, abusive, or illegal content
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers or databases
• Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our services
• Circumvent any security features or usage limits

7. Intellectual Property

Your content: You retain full ownership of your speech, audio recordings, and any content you create while using the App. By using Likable, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your audio and transcript data solely for the purpose of providing the analysis service.

Our content: The App, its design, code, AI models, speaking topics, and all related intellectual property are owned by Likable and protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account remains active. You may request full account deletion at any time, which will:

• Permanently delete your profile and all associated data
• Remove all speaking session records, transcripts, and analysis results
• Delete streak data, weekly completions, and progress history
• Remove any feedback or bug reports you've submitted

Account deletion is a cascade operation — all associated data is removed from our systems. Local data (audio recordings, preferences) should be deleted by removing the App from your device.

9. Limitation of Liability

Likable is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

We are not liable for:

• The accuracy of AI-generated analysis, scores, or feedback
• Any decisions you make based on the App's analysis
• Loss of data due to device failure or service interruptions
• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of Likable after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Likable at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately, though you may still request deletion of your data.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Likable shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing any formal legal proceedings.
